Things to do on Your Vacation
At The Cabins at China Lake, we like to provide rest, relaxation and FUN for our guests. There are quiet activities to be found here, and more active pursuits. Read on for an idea of what activities are available to you on your vacation.
Rest and Relaxation
Our guests love to gather on our screened front porch or along the edge of the lake for conversation and relaxing. There are a few hammocks scattered around where you can read a book, gaze up in the trees, or grab some shut-eye. We have a quiet library with an assortment of books or you can bring your own. There is a piano and sheet music in the library, if you'd like to sit awhile and play.

Active pursuits
If you like to be active, you've come to the right place. We have all kinds of sports equipment. There's a softball field, some tennis courts, a badmitten/volleyball net, shuffleboard, horseshoes, a basketball hoop.
Prefer to be in the water? We have a float you can swim to and sun on or jump off. We have kayaks, canoes, and a paddleboat.
You can hop in a motorboat and go fishing (license required) or fish off of our dock. China Lake is noted for its game fish: big bass, brown trout, white perch.

Planned activities
We have a variety of planned activities throughout the week, for kids of all ages. Movie nights, game nights, candybar bingo, sing-alongs around the campfire, kayak races....the list goes on. Our staff can also help organize a softball or volleyball game.
Rainy-day and indoor activities
No one wants to deal with rain on their vacation, but occasionally it does happen. We've got a large rec room that gives your kids room to stretch their legs. It's actually a nice cool place to hang out in on a hot day, too. There are ping pong, foosball, and air hockey tables, games, a big-screen TV (rainy days are perfect days for an afternoon movie activity), and a great play room for your toddlers, complete with a cushioned floor for boo-boo free fun. Or you can hang out in the library, reading, playing games, making puzzles.
